Last Friday we were lucky enough to have some good weather so we hopped on the train and went into the city centre. We explored the art of the city and the architecture. What did you think of the city centre? Which building was your favourite? Why?
Jack and the Beanstalk
We are writing rags to riches tales and to help us we have learnt the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We mapped the story, grew beanstalks of our own and created leaves and a beanstalk outside our classroom. Do you like it?

Here we are learning to multiply with bigger numbers. We used Base 10 to help us.
Professor McGinty visited today.
We had an amazing time with the Professor today. He taught us all about the Ancient Greeks. There was dressing up, artefacts to look at and pass around and fabulous story telling. History is fun!

Today we spent some time talking about the letter we have mapped and learnt. We used role play and freeze framing to show how a character might be feeling at different points in the letter.
A Recount Letter
Here is our text map for our letter. It is based on the story of King Midas. It is a letter from Midas to a friend, telling them about what happened to him when he wished for the golden touch. Please practice this map ready for writing a letter of your own.

We have been learning the names and properties of 3D shapes. Today we made some 3D shapes from nets. Please ask you child all about their learning.
This weeks maths – we are learning all about shape.
We had great fun today trying to sort shapes onto a Venn diagram. We found it a bit tricky trying to decide where each shape went, especially which shapes would go in the overlapping section. King Midas and the Golden Touch
This half term we are learning the story of King Midas who wished for the golden touch. Everything he touched turned to gold and this included his daughter. We had great fun today making models to paint gold.
